Absolut Director wins 2001 London International Advertising Award

London, November 12, 2001—The London International Advertising Awards were announced today. Among the winners is the ground-breaking web site Absolut Director, created by a development team which includes Submarine, Inc., Pillar Applications Group, Inc., Zendo Studios and Zowie Digital Media.

The site, which allows a user to create their own Japanese Monster Movie (complete with dialog), won the 2001 Interactive:Website award in the Beverage category.

The entry was submitted by Zendo Studios, who created the Shockwave user interface for the web site.

Pillar Applications Group created the software and hardware architecture, Text-to-Speech web server, SQL Server data storage and the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) interface for the Text-to-Speech server, data storage and Shockwave applications.

Submarine, Inc. devised the concept and created the movie clips; Zowie Digital Media provided project management.

Client coordination was provided by TBWA/Chiat/Day, the agency of record for Absolut Vodka.
